"PCT must come clean on cuts" - Steve Goddard

Reacting to news that up to £240m worth of services could be cut in the next three years, Dr Steve Goddard, Oxford East Liberal Democrats parliamentary spokesman has set up a website to fight the NHS cuts. The petition can be signed here:

Steve recently visited the John Radcliffe with Shadow Health Secretary Norman Lamb and met with the PCT. He said "I've used the NHS all my life. My kids were born in the John Radcliffe."

"What's clear is that the Labour Government's boom and bust investment in the NHS has left the Primary Care Trust staring down the barrel of a £240m gun. This is a massive amount of cash and it is hard to see how frontline services and jobs will not be affected."

"Vital services could be under threat. The PCT needs to tell people what services they are looking at, which they are refusing to say at the moment. It is hard to see how any of this benefits local people and it's clear that Labour can't be trusted with our public services."
