In a meeting with members of the Eco-buildings Open Day team, Lib Dem Parliamentary Candidate for Oxford East, Dr Steve Goddard, was today given a personal tour of The Music Hall, situated in the Green Room just off of the Cowley Road, Oxford.
The building, which was added as an extension for the use of Music Hall office staff is built of straw and lime-render, with no metal or concrete and zero carbon.
"Across Britain there are 26 million homes. One of the greatest contributions we can make to curbing global warming is to make them more energy efficient. It's great that Oxford contains so many superb examples of eco-houses: they show many practical ways of helping preserve the environment for future generations. I've thoroughly enjoyed my visit, and I'm grateful to everyone who's helped organise the Eco-homes Open Day."
